2009 the year of completion and divine surprizes.
May 31 Vickie
Wow! How quickly life can change. Pastor Rusty and I were saying this morning that in the last 20 years not much has changed with our parents, but in just one week everything has changed. My step dad Dr. Gale Seigler passed away and before his funeral we found out that Rusty’s Mom has a brain tumor. Rusty just now left to go to Dallas to be with his Mom. It’s not often that I’m not with Rusty, but another major event happenend the day after Gales funeral.
My daughter, Ashley, her best friend Bailey, was in a horrific car accident. She rolled her jeep 4 times speeding to a class she was late for. Bailey has two adorable children that were not with her. She had already dropped them off at the babysitters. Ashley and I got to Lubbock as quick as we could and while I waited for Ashley to drive from Amarillo to Tulia I called people to start praying. This morning at church I found out that Chere Bradley began to travail in the spirit as soon as she found out and so did Britney Birkenfeld. Those kinds of prayer are so vital because the rest of us are trying to cope with the emotional side of things. I know many of you were also praying. I stayed in touch with Charlotte and Mae as they kept everyone updated.
As we waited for Bailey to get out of 7 hours of surgery I prayed Lord let me get to lay hands on her and pray before I leave. Ashley and I got to go in and lay hands on her and the anointing was strong and I knew she would make it through the night. Ashley felt the same thing and it so comforted her to know Bailey was going to make it. She’s a fighter.
My sister Lorie lives in Lubbock and she was able to get us to UMC she is also a nurse which helps. Ashley and I were able to stay with her and go back to the hospital the next morning. We went in to see Bailey and the swelling in her face had much improved. Today she is breathing better and just had a rod and pins put in to help keep her leg straight.
Bailey’s Mom and Dad have stayed strong and know many people are praying. I will keep posting about Rust’s Mom and Bailey as I’m updated. In the mean time prayer is the only thing that changes things. We will continue to pray.
May 31 Vickie 11:20 p.m.
Ashley just called and they are taking Bailey back to surgery, the artery in her leg burst(if that’s the right term). Bless her heart, she is in the Lord’s hands. Praying for Ashley that she sleeps well and is encouraged. This is just a set back, but we keep looking forward to Bailey’s complete healing.
May 31 11:44 p.m.
People that know me know I’m never up this late, but seem to be having trouble sleeping. Rusty made it to Dallas got to see his Mom for a couple of hours. Surgery tomarrow at 7:30 a.m. for the removal of a plum size brain tumor. Please pray!
June 1 2:00p.m. Vickie
Rusty’s Mom (Louella) is out of surgery and in ICU. The tumor was cancer, but think they can get the rest of it with Chemo. That’s good news. The surgery was to take 3 hours and they did it in 1 hour. Continue to pray for a good recovery and that we find the right hospital to do her chemo treatments at.
Bailey is recovering today from last nights surgery, she is holding her own. Will update later tonight.
6-01 4:00 p.m.
Cindy (Bailey’s Mom )just called and Bailey is not breathing well. We have prayed and expecting it to change.
Rusty’s mom doing well.
6-01 5:45 Vickie
Good News- Bailey was trying to take the respirator out, trying to breathe o
n her own, which made all the alarms go off. So she is breathing just fine and the doctors said one of her lungs is almost healed. Looks much improved. Pray and agree she has a good night.
6-02 7:30 p.m.
They put Bailey on a roto bed today that keeps her swiging from side to side every 5 minutes. It keeps her lungs open and keeps her from getting infection in her lungs. I’m sure it helps other things I don’t know about. we continue to pray.
6-02- 7:45 p.m.
Today the doctors gave Rusty’s mom a very bad report. They are saying there is no reason to do chemo or radiation that the tumor is fast growing and that it won’t help. Rusty and Lynn are left to make decisions on what to do next. They said she can never live alone again. Pray that they have peace and have wisdom about what they should do.
June 3rd 9:39
Rusty on his way home from Dallas. Rusty and Lynn have to make decisions over the next week on how to best care for Louella.
Betty Chandler is getting out of the hospital today. She was told she would be there for 2 weeks, only there for one. Yea, some good news.
Today they are taking Bailey in to flush out her wounds and rebandage her knees.
june 4 10:24 p.m.
Last night Bailey had a blood clot go to her lung. They are giving her blood thinner and we are praying. Seems to be working and not affecting any other areas. This is a serious thing so be praying. Ashley is there tonight so I will have an update in the morning.
Rusty’s mom is in rehab and doing well. Since they took the tumor out the pressure is off the memory part of her brain. We should be able to bring her home the first of next week.
Betty is home and resting.
Lindsey and Garretts wedding is this weekend!
June 5th 8:48 a.m.
No news this morning….no news is good news. Will update through out the day as I hear.
Afternoon:
Ashley seems very stressed, please pray for her to have peace, I don’t need another one in the hospital. Bailey holding her own and Rusty’s mom doing rehab today.
June 6th 10:42
My sister Lorie worked at UMC yesterday and her students worked with Bailey in ICU. They had put Bailey on a new kind of respirator and Lorie said today they are going to try and ween her off of it. She is still in the swing bed for her lungs. She is taking baby steps to recovery and the doctors said that was good. The blood thinner is working like it’s suppose to and she’s not bleeding out any where else.
Louella will be in rehab for 2 weeks and then they will send her home to Hollis.
June 7th 10:00 a.m.
Friday night at Lindsey’s rehersal dinner I began to feel sick, sure enough Sat. I was in bed all day and missed Lindsey’s wedding. It must have been a 24 hour thing, because I am feeling better today. I did’nt go to church and I really don’t like missing church. Rusty has to go to Dallas today to see the doctor about Louella and I want to go with him. I’m up getting around so think I will try to go with him. So I may not write for a couple of days unless I find a computer. We will be home on Tuesday
Bailey was taken off the bed and the special respirator yesterday, They tried to wake her up. She did’nt rouse much. Kurt and Megan went up to Lubbock yesterday to pray for her. Ashley is still there staying with my sister, she is doing better. Will know more about Rusty’s Mom after I get home from Dallas. Wow! lots going on keep them in your prayers.
June 8 9:30 p.m.
I am so tired, just got home from Dallas about 3 hours ago. The meeting with Louella’s dr. went as expected. She will be in rehab for 2 weeks then spend some time with her sister and then home to Hollis. As a family we will take it a day at a time. There are only 150 Neuro-Oncology doctors in the United States and Baylor in Dallas has one of the best, and Yes! she’s Louella’s doctor. This type of doctor specializes in brain tumors. She gives people bad news all day, she said it’s never good news if you have to come to her office. I don’t think I would like her job.
We did’nt get good news about Bailey, but I think I will wait til morning to blog when I have more details. Keep Cindy and Billy Paul in your prayers, they have alot to take in.
God cares right down to the last detail James 5:11
June 9th 8:20 p.m.
With prayer bad news changes to good, Bailey’s bad report has changed to the doctors saying things look better. We need to keep praying for Bailey’s legs, ankles, and her foot. The arteries and muscle in her leg need to have life in them. Bailey has a strong will to live and she needs our prayers to keep her body healing. Thanks everyone for praying I know many of you have verses your standing on, keep it up.
Keep praying that Louella has peace and we have wisdom.
Ashley seems to be doing much better, I know it’s because of your prayers, thanks so much guys for keeping her lifted up. She has class on Monday and Wednesday nights and Arthur has class four nights a week. They both have thier plate full and then Bailey in ICU and Arthur’s grandma Lolya is in the hospital.
Ephesians 3:20 The Message
God can do anything you know-far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!
Rusty’s mom losing intrest in rehab, can’t blame her I would’nt want to do anything if I did’nt feel good. Hope she has a better day today.
Motorcycle Sunday…June 28th…10:45 a.m. …Tulia Christian Fellowship..Bring your bike.
6-10-09
Good news…Bailey opened her eyes!
6-11-09
More Good News…Bailey is off the respirator and trying to talk, they are going to work with her to try and help her with words.
June 14 2009 6:10 P.M.
WOW, What a weekend, some good news and some devastating news. The bad news first to get it out of the way, this weekend they had to amputate Bailey’s leg at the knee. Rusty and I raced up to Lubbock as soon as we found out Friday night, because Ashley was so upset. It was a really hard day for Bailey, her mom and dad, and her friends. Bailey is totally awake and now eating solid foods, (that’s good news) and Ashley said today they may put her in a room and get her out of ICU. They are talking about surgery tomarrow to fix her broken bones.
Rusty’s Mom will get out of rehab Monday and go to her sisters for a few days and then home to Hollis. It will be nice for her to be back home so that we can go see her.
Leaving for camp tonight at midnight, taking 56 kids, please pray for a safe trip. Oh yea I’m not going.
Be sure to keep Bailey’s parents in your prayers, they have been through alot and have not gotten much rest through all this.
6-15-09
They moved Bailey to a room today, so she is out of ICU. Hopeful that they will do surgery in the morning to fix her shoulder and heel. Her heel was crushed, but they think they can rebuild it and put a plate in it. Bailey and her family still very much need our prayers.
I am pretty much emotionally drained.
June 18th 5:55 p.m.
They did do surgery on Bailey’s shoulder and they said it would take about 3 weeks for it to heal. One of Bailey’s arms is broken and the other is laying dormant, sooo it needs to wake up. They can fix the broken arm, but this other arm needs prayer. Bailey’s leg also needs prayer, so everyone keep praying we are not out of the woods yet. On the brighter side they put a dvd player in her room and said for her to watch some funny movies that laughter was the best therapy. Funny the bible says the same thing, that laughter is like medicine to the bones. Sounds like a good way to heal. Ashley is in Lubbock today, with Bailey right now. Actually Ashley seems to be doing better than I am this week. I have had a really hard week (mentally) to much at one time. I will blog an update when I talk to Ash tonight.
My hubby comes home in the morning, yea I can get some sleep. They said they have had an awesome camp. Can’t wait to hear the stories.
Hey everybody, leave a message and let me know your praying for Bailey or just reading the blog.
Thanks to everyone praying, we are encouraged.
June 19th 3:17
There are all kinds of benefits going on to help Bailey’s family. The Blue Top cafe in Tulia is serving Beans and Cornbread from 5-8p.m. this Monday night the 20th. They are doing a blooddrive in Kress and selling t-shirts for 10.00. Wells Fargo and HCSB have also set up funds. Thanks to everyone helping out.
Bailey had a surgery on her heel today, they did a skin graft and will do another in a couple of days. Yesterday she moved the arm that has been dormant, that is great news. Keep praying over that arm. Her heel, leg ,and arm still need continued prayer.
June 23rd 8:45 a.m.
The dinner at the Blue Top was full of people from start to finish. The beans were good too. I talked to Wendy (Bailey’s aunt) and the skin graft they did worked (PTL). They will do another one soon. They have Bailey on morphine and she has been upset to her stomach, not sure that it’s the morphine, but maybe everything she has to take for surgery’s etc. has upset her stomach. You might think an upset stomach (no big deal) but I think there’s nothing worse than being sick to my stomach. Pray for Bailey to adjust to the loss of her leg, it will take some time, but with everyone’s encouragement and prayers I know she can do it. I know that Johnthan Barnes will be an encouragement to her and he has been to see her several times. It was 5 years ago that he lost his foot. And then Toby’s daughter lost her arm a year ago, I know she could be an encouragement to Bailey. Thanks again everyone for praying.
Motorcycle Sunday… this Sunday June 28th o9 …10:45.. to benefit the Driskill House.
Talked to Louella on the phone today, she is back home in Hollis. Her sister is leaving tomorrow and her 2 granddaughters will stay with her after that.
Proud of my daughter and son-inlaw they are half way through summer session. PTL!
June 28th
Have heard a couple of things today about Bailey that may seem small to us, but are milestones for her. One she has learned to use the nurse call button with the arm that I talked about that was dormant. Today she text Ashley, Wow. Ashley left for Lubbock after Motorcycle sunday so I will have an update from her when she gets back to Tulia. It will be a long road for Bailey, but with the Lord and support from family and friends she will make it.
June 29th 6 30 a.m.
It is pouring here in Tulia this morning, we are planing on leaving in a few minutes to go see Louella and come back this afternoon.
Very good news about Bailey, Ashley spent a few hours with her Sun. afternoon and she is doing so much better. Ashley said she looks great and was in a happy mood. Seems to be adjusting well and moving that arm has been great. Thanks everyone for staying updated and praying.
Thanks to everyone who helped with motorcycle Sunday, you pulled it off. A big thanks to Lou and Bernine and all there staff, they really made things happen. We love you guys!
Home from Hollis and Louella doing good, but seems to sit in her chair alot. That’s just not her she is a mover and a shaker, she was still mowing her own lawn until this tumor came up. I asked her if she was bored she said, “No”, but the doctor said the tumor would effect her motivation. Her memory is still good and she made conversation and asked questions. We will continue to take this a day at a time.
Bailey was having a bad day today, highs and lows, mentally she was just having a not so good day.Continue to keep her in your prayers and her parents also, they are weary. It has been just a little over a month. I saw Avery ( Bailey’s daughter) today outside playing ball, she was having a big time.
Happy 4th of July everyone…I love God and Country…we are so blessed to live in the United States of America…thanks to all who have served and are serving our country. My Dad served in the Air Force, yea I’m an Air Force brat.
July 5, 3:30 p.m.
Bailey got to see her kids for the first time yesterday. It was a joyous experience with some tears too. Avery was a little taken back with Bailey being in the hospital, but excited to see her Mom. Jacob turned one on July 4th. Bailey say’s she does not like rehab, but she can tell that it makes a difference. They keep her busy during the day.
Exciting News: Kurt and Megan Schulte got engaged on July 4th along with fire works and a big ring. Yea, both of my kids will be married and now maybe some grandbabies. Well, maybe in about four more years, Ashley has to finish school and teach awhile and kurt and megan need to be just married for a while.
I saw Rusty’s mom twice last week once on Monday and on Thursday…she looks good, but is weak and in the chair all day. Makes for a long day. Her memory is still good and that’s good for all of us, that she still knows us and is not in any pain.
Be praying for Bernice Hoelting she is having surgery in the morning.
7-09-09
Bernice is doing well, and will be moved to Dimmitt for rehab, she had her hip replaced.
They are transporting Bailey to Covenant Hospital today for rehab. She spent one day learning how to get in a wheelchair and it took her 45 minutes, then she was to tired to go anywhere. I call that progress, it will take some time.
Rusty’s mom is still the same.
JULY 14, 09 9:45AM
Ashley and I went to Lubbock after church and some lunch to see Bailey. I have not seen Bailey in several weeks. She was in a very upbeat mood and was eager to show me her wounds and explain what was going on with her care. Her left arm is still laying dormant and we need to be praying it wakes up. She started rehab on Monday, 3 times a day. She has another skin graft to go, the first one worked 100%. Ashley bought her an i-pod so she can listen to music, I’m sure t.v. get old. There won’t be much time for T.V. with rehab 3 times a day. Thanks to everyone for praying…keep Ashley in your prayers she’s still struggling. She will start WT in the fall and she needs to start with a clear mind.
July- 28 09 - Tuesday
Home from vacation…Restful? Yes and No. The days we went 4 wheeling and hiking not so restful. The days we went to eat Taos Cow ice cream (yum) Good Times.
When we got home the next day Ashley left for Lubbock to spend the night with Bailey to give her Mom and Dad a break. Bailey got her first day pass from the hospital. She left the hospital and went to her sisters to eat supper, the first time in 7 weeks she has been out of the hospital. The next morning Ash and Bailey figured out how to get Bailey in the wheel chair and down to the cafeteria for breakfast. Then for a stroll around the grounds. Yea, great to be outside. Praying that Bailey can come to Tulia for rehab, it would be so much better for her Mom and Dad.
Bailey will not be needing a skin graft on her amputated leg, because it has healed so well on it’s own. Her other wounds are also healing well, but we need to continue to pray for her left arm to wake up. She moved her elbow the other day a very good sign.
Rusty’s Mom is still doing well at home, we talk to her often and her memory is good. She is still trying to gain strength and sitting in the chair all day. Lynn made her walk the other day and go outside, I think that would be good for her, especially mentally.
Well, just a few more weeks of summer, school will be starting soon and so will GZ and PK. Yea, we will have a youth pastor this year, Kurt and Megan will be taking over GZ. This fall will be busy with a wedding and getting back in the groove with school, sports, and a more normal schedule. I have not been to the lake one time this summer. I think the boat has only been in the water twice.
August 3 o9
Many of you already know the good news…Bailey is out of the hospital and home. She was in church with Ashley yesterday…AWESOME. She is doing well, but still has a knee surgery to go and that arm still needs to wake up. Doctors say it could be as long as 18 months, but we know it will not begin to take that long. She is now able to move her elbow and shoulder. Now we just need those fingers moving. Once again to everyone who has been praying, it truely is a miracle how far she has come and that her face and brain were not injured, Thanks.
8-11-09
This past weekend we had two weddings, one on Sat. night and one after church on Sunday. It has been a little busy so I have not had time to keep my blog up.
As many of you already know Bailey is at home and doing well, she was in church this past Sunday. On Saturday Bailey had gone to Amarillo with her mom and they met Ashley for lunch. Bailey was wanting to stay in Amarillo and go to the mall, but her Mom had to get home. Sooo she stayed with Ashley…Ash was not to sure of caring for Bailey by herself. That means getting her in and out of the car, the wheel chair in the trunk, and well you know how little Ash is. But long story short it all went well and they stayed at the mall all afternoon and Ash got Bailey back to Tulia and back home. Good Job!!!
Tomorrow Bailey goes to the doctor to see about surgery on her knee. Praying she gets a good report and they know what they can do for that knee. Continue to pray for her arm and leg that needs more surgery. Bailey has a really good attitude and that is always half your battle in any situation. There is a rodeo in a couple of weeks to raise money for her, so I will get all the info and post it here and on face book.
We went to see Rusty’s mom over the weekend and she is not doing quite as well as she has been. But we are praying that things will go well. She is still able to stay at home and sits alot in her chair. She has someone staying with her most of the day. Thanks again for praying…
August 24th 09
It’s the first day of school for so many. from pre-k to college. Ashley and Arthur both have class today and I think they both have a night class. Ashley is nervous about her music class, but I know she will be fine.
This weekend they did a rodeo for Bailey and raised 16 thousand dollars, if what I heard was right. Bailey is doing amazing, yesterday Ashley went and got her and they went to the movie, to maurcies to try on clothes and back to Tulia. Ashley has to get the wheel chair in and out of the car which is pretty good for her. She’s little you know.I don’t know any details about her next surgery, Rusty and I have been out of town so I really haven’t had a chance to talk to Ash.
Louella is not doing well, she say’s she just does’nt feel well. She is not getting dressed anymore and has no energy, but is in no pain. Sept.4th is her birthday and she will be 78. When we called her yesterday she did’nt even want to talk on the phone, just did’nt feel like it.
Molly is in the hospital at BSA, please pray for her , she is very sick. She has a blood clot the size of her leg and they are giving her blood thinner to disolve it. If you want more info, call me at the office. Veronica and Valeria are both home to see her, we got to see Veronica at the hospital. She has remarried and is living in Houston, I’m so happy for her that she has found Chris.Veronica’s first husband died of cancer shortly after they married I think he was only 20 or 21.
Time marches on, this week we will start GZ and PK. Kurt is getting ready for GZ and still has some last minute things to do. Liz is just about ready for PK. The GZ team met last night and we are ready to start year 11 of GZ. Kurt has a full week the first week…Wed night, thurs. lunch life group, friday night football and 5th quarter after the game. He still has to get the basketball goals put together. It will all come together at the last minute it always does. Then not to mention he and Meg are planing a wedding. The little house is just about finished, we finished painting and I’m thankful for that.
Continue to pray for Bailey, Molly, Bernice and Dickie and all the kids and big kids starting school. Thanks!!!
September 1 o9
An update on Bailey, her surgery was suppose to be today, but has been delayed until next Tuesday. The surgery will take 7 to 8 hours so they had to find a day open for an 7-8 hour surgery. Bailey seems to be doing very well and is still going to rehab 3 times a week here in Tulia. Ashley and Shanna took her shopping this past weekend, she still loves going to the mall. And yes they try on clothes and manage the wheel chair just fine. Ashley should have some new found muscles that she did’nt know she had.
Molly is home from the hospital, but will still have to have surgery. She needs to still heal and we need to be praying that the swelling in her leg continues to go down and that the blood clots dissolve.
Continue to pray for Dickie and Bernice, she is home recouping from surgery.
Our first wednesday for GZ and PK were beyound what we expected. GZ was packed with kids and Kurt did an amazing job of preaching. Pastor was not on the platform one time, new for him. Kurt’s team did the whole service, well except for me, I took up the offering and gave away some free cd’s. Get your kids ready for PK it’s their back to school bash. If you can help that would be great, we will need all the help we can get.
Louella (Pastor’s Mom) birthday is Septembeer the 4th she will be 78. She is hoping she is well enough to go to her sisters in Dallas for a few days. Would be good for her if she could.
Kurt and Megan’s wedding announcement will be in the paper this week and in the Plainview paper this coming Sunday. Their first shower is September 19th at Lou Wethington’s if you need directions call me.
For the months of September -November we are reading the book of Proverbs a chapter a day. 31 chapters. I started today…did you??? If you did’nt jump in and start. Have a great week and see you Wednesday night or Sunday morning.

Pastor’s Mom turned 78 on Sept. the 4th, she did get to go to Dallas to see her sister.
As Old AS Methuselah:
Once someone’s hair begins to trun gray, people are quick to label tham as old. When a person seems especially old, even ancient, some are likely to say that the person is ” as old as Methuselah.”
Methuselah, Noah’s grandfather, is the person in the bible who lived the longest life. We read in Genesis 5:27, “And all the days of Methuselah were 969 years and he died.”
Methuselah’s grandfather, Jared, was the second oldest man who ever lived. He lived to be 962 years old, just seven years short of Methuselah.
Enoch, Methuselah’s father, did’nt die. He walked with God. According to Genesis 5:24, “And Enoch walked with God : and he was not; for God took him.” There is no gravestone or tomb to memorialize him-he went straight to heaven to be with the Lord.
God’s original plan for man did’nt include death. It came about as a result of Adam and Eve’s sin. After the flood, with the exception of Noah, who lived to be 950 years of age, the length of life shortened dramatically. It settled down to a life expectancy of three score and ten (70 years), close to where it is today. Any years beyound 70 are said to be a gift fro God and a blessing. edf
Have a great week, remember the 13th baptisim and Curvine will be here September 16th.
9-11-09
Remembering the men and women that died today, because of man’s hatered for others. Proud to be an american and proud of the men and women who fight for our freedom. God Bless America.

Rusty’s Mom is not doing well, please pray for rusty’s brother and his family as they continue to care for her.

This week is such a big week, we have Curvine coming this Wednesday, we need to go see Rusty’s Mom before he leaves for Men’s Retreat. MR is this thursday, then I have to take Curvine back to the airport on Thursday. Megan and Kurt’s shower is on Saturday, Don schulte is in hospital passing kidney stones. Be praying for him, I’m sure he wants to go to MR. Molly is going back to the dr. on Thursday, pray for a good report, and Bailey is back to the dr. this Mon. and Tuesday.
Keep reading Proverbs…and have a blessed week.
9- 22 09
Rusty, Kurt, Meg, and I went to Hollis yesterday to see Louella. Lynn had her in the hospital and then from there they transported her to the nursing home. She has a very nice room all to herself, the nurses all know her and are very attentive. Lea goes by a couple of times a day to check on her. We stayed with her to feed her lunch, but she refused to eat. After waiting on Lynn to finish flying and spending some time with him,we went back to check on her. She was in bed asleep, she say’s she is not in any pain.We went by her house and I watered her plants on the patio, they look pretty good. We are going to try and go once a week, maybe on Mondays, or Sundays after church.
Kurt and Megan get married in about 5 weeks, it will be here before we know it.
Oct 2, 09
Reading the book of Proverbs for the second time. Chapter 2 The Benefits of Wisdom…
Last Sunday we left after church to go to Hollis and we spent the night. Then on Monday we were able to back to the nursing home to see Louella. She is still the same, say’s she is not in any pain. We will try to see her once a week.
Bailey had knee surgery, it went well and she is still in the hospital this morning. They did the surgery in Amarillo which is so much better than her being in Lubbock.
Kurt and Megan get married in just 21 days, will be glad when it is here. You know how big events are…let’s just get on with it. Kurt still needs to put the oven in, he got the stove top done this week. He had to cut out the counter top to make it fit and he cut it perfect. Perfect fit! They still need to move some furniture and such, but there little casa is coming along.
Groundzero had 164 kids this past Wednesday the largest crowd ever except for big events.
Have a blessed week and keep Molly on your prayers.
Oct. 14th 09
Bailey had to have a second spinal tapp, because they lost the results from the first one. Please!! Come on someone get their act together. Molly still in the hospital, she has to get rid of that infection so she can have surgery. Please keep her in your prayers. Cody Braddock fell 15 feet onto concrete and cracked his pelvis and broke his elbow. What a miracle that is was’nt much worse. Went to Lubbock this morning to see him, he is very uncomfortable, and having surgery today on his elbow. Be praying!!!
This past Sunday after church we went to Hollis to see Louella, she is steadly getting worse. She fell asleep while Rusty was feeding her supper. She still says she is in no pain (Miracle) and seems to be ok for her situation. We had supper with Lynn and his girls and grandson. Lea Jessie and Zane, and Lea has really taken on taking care of Louella and is doing a great job. Keep all of them in your prayers.
Next week Kurt and Megan get married Oct 23rd, Wow I can’t beleive it is already here, but am excited that it is here. Kurt can eat his own food and make his own messes at his own house. Just Kidding (sort of) LOL. He and Meg have done a great job of getting things ready and working on their house. Thanks TCF of all your support for them and gifts. They have really been blessed.
Thanks to Lou and Tracey for hosting showers. If you missed either one of their houses you really missed out.
Reading the book of Proverbs for the second time, if you have not been able to start, start with ch 15 tomorrow. Every man and son should read the book of Proverbs and of course us girls, but wow talk about good stuff for the guys. I know some senators and congressmen, oh and some presidents that if they had been meditating in the book of Prov. it would have saved them and their families alot of heart ache.

3 days until the wedding, Wow, can’t beleive it’s already here. Let me update you on how Molly, and Cody are doing.
Molly did great through surgery and she is in ICU today in recovery.
Cody is still in Lubbock at Covenant doing rehab, I think it’s coming along slowly and he is uncomfortable.
Louella is on some stronger pain meds and is doing about the same. We will not see her until after the wedding, toward the end of Oct.
Continue to pray this week for all who are sick and the families that are going through these trials.
Proverbs chapter 21 tomorrow.
Will connect with you again after the wedding.
Oct-29th 09
Looks like we got some rain last night, ans we needed it. Now I won’t have to water, well I better wait and see how much we got.
The wedding is over, it was wonderful and we saw old friends and rusty’s family from Amarillo were here. Good to see them. The kid’s are home from Aspen and they closed the pass while they were there,so they had to go to Denver and down to Colorado Springs, to get home. I think they were glad to get home, driving in snow can be so stressful.
Molly is home…she is so glad to be home. Both the girls came home to help care for her, but they had to leave today. So she will be staying at her Dad’s where her sister can see after her. It would be nice if everyone would sent her a card, she has a way to go to get better.
Cody is still in rehab and Greg and Pastor have both been to see him this week. He is much improving, but also has a way to go to recover. You could send a card to Nelya and use there home adress.
Louella is the same, we will go next week to see her.
The next big event is the “Hallelujah Carnival” Sunday, NOv. 1st -6-8pm
The carnival has become an annual event for the whole family. While the kids enjoy all the games and activities, you can enjoy the concession stand offering chili cheese dogs, chip, drink and desert. Also, all the great drinks from the “Java Cafe”. Even if you don’t have a little one to bring to the carnival come and eat supper and fellowship. We would love to see you there.
Proverbs 29 Today… Remember we are reading Proverbs again for the month of November. Get sound wisdom from the book of Proverbs.
Will update you again next week…we had over 150 kids in GZ last night. Jeremy Rodriguez spoke for a few minutes in GZ and gave an encouraging word to the teens. He was in GZ 9 years ago and encouraged the kids not to miss this time in their lives…he attends a church in Denver of 10,000 and said their youth group has just about 150 in it. The kids were excited about their youth group and how they have grown it …Keep up the good work youth.

Glenda Birkenfeld and Carroll Gerbers mom, Virgie Gerber went home to be with the Lord last night just before 12:00. Virgie was a very special lady who walked from her home to church, to pray and then back home to have coffee with 4 or 5 of her 13 children every day. She had the most beautilful yard and porch that I would have no problem sitting on all day long. She had a double sided swing that her sons made for her that is so inviting. She was a loving and kind Mom, grandma, and a great grandma, she enjoyed 87 years with her family.
Several of her family members attend TCF…Glenda and Greg, Jason, Britney,Jamie, Matt and her great grand children Brooklyn and Averi.
Carroll and Denise Gerber, Lyndsie, Garrett, Carson, and Kristin.
This week send a card to the families and keep them all in your prayers.
Thanks TCF for reaching out to others.

Rusty’s Mom is not doing well, which is expected, her breathing is becoming more and more shallow. I got a message from Lea today and she said ,”it’s hard on her to see her Nanny like she is.”Please be praying for Lea, she is the one that daily checks on her and for the rest of the Gray family as they prepare to deal with the loss of their mom and Grandma. Sometimes the process of dying is hard, our spirit can be ready, but our body wants to hang on. The doctors are managing her pain, it’s just a hard thing for a family to go through.
Molly is home and having her ups and downs, please be praying for her or go by and see her, she is at home all day.
Cody is also at home, he was in church on Sunday. He looks good , but has a way to go to complete recovery.
Thanksgiving is our time to be thankful and even tho many of us have been through some trials and tibulations, we continue to trust in the Lord. For those that have gone home to be with the Lord, it’s hard on us that still remain, but great for those that are in Heaven.
Remember to read Proverbs every day, this is our last month and you should have read it 3 times. Wow, you should have much wisdom. I haved love reading the book of Proverbs and how it deal with real life.
Thanks to everyone for keeping the Gray’s , the Rodriguez family, and the Braddock family in your prayers.
Jesus said, “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14-27
